The Digital Navigators Association (DNA) is building a loosely coupled network and attracting motivated members representing the range of institutions and specialities (including academic, financial, business and governmental leaders and organizations), non-for-profit and non-profit entities . They want to commit time, personal effort, and money to addres the special needs within the AND focus. 1. People with disabilities Technologies to address this market are referred to as "Assistive Technologies". 2. Digitally deprived employers A term coined to describe the situation in many areas of the world where a shortage of ICT skills inhibit local business competitiveness and growth. Projects to address this challenge are referred to as "New Employment" . 3. Digitally deprived communities A term coined to describe the plight of many who, because of lack of education, resources or other reasons, are not able to joint the digital age. Initiatives to address this market segment are referred to as "Digital Care". On 3 December 2002, a DNA-brainstormsession was held at the Nijenrode University campus in the "Ridderzaal". Executive thought leaders from Noaber Foundation, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, C&E bankiers en IICD presented their vision on this subject, preceding this succesfull brainstormsession. Extensive use was made of GroupSupport technology, which PWC provided for free. The chairman of the gathering was Ben Tiggelaar; a leading management and internet author in the Netherlands. The session was closed with a lecture of business ethics, with the notion that people who give, will receive, being a natural law living in the society.
